Learn to make things with your hands
I run courses throughout the year for small groups (maximum 4 people per session). You get proper one-to-one time at the bench, use real tools, and go home with something you made yourself. No experience required for any of the beginner courses.
Spend a full day at the lathe. You will learn to mount timber, use gouges and skew chisels safely, and make two finished pieces: a small bowl and a candlestick. I provide all materials and tools. You keep what you make.
Carve a functional eating spoon from a piece of green wood using just an axe, a straight knife, and a hook knife. This is traditional Scandinavian-style spoon carving. Meditative, satisfying, and you get a spoon at the end.
A weekend course covering epoxy resin work combined with wood. You will prepare timber blanks, mix and pour clear resin, wait for it to cure overnight, then shape and polish the pieces on day two. Go home with 3-4 finished pendants or rings.
Learn to cut proper joints with hand tools. Dovetails, mortise and tenon, housing joints. You will spend the day at the bench with sharp chisels and a good saw. Expect to go slowly and learn accuracy rather than speed.
Old clothes you do not mind getting dusty. Closed-toe shoes. Long hair tied back. I provide aprons and safety specs.
The workshop is in the countryside so you will need a car. Full address and directions sent on booking. Free parking on site.
Available for any course. Valid for 12 months. The recipient can choose their preferred date. Drop me an email to arrange.
Full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before. Within 7 days, I will try to fill your place and refund if I can. If I cancel (weather, illness), you get a full refund or can reschedule.
Drop me an email. Happy to answer questions about what to expect, difficulty levels, or whether a particular course suits what you are looking for.
